Storytelling, celebrating underrepresented voices, and facilitating empowerment through the writing process is a strong thread in her path & vision.
In 2009, Sahra was recruited to design and implement a youth literacy program at Artists For Humanity in Boston, MA. In 2010, she became the Director of the Writing Success Program at University of California, Los Angeles where she trained a staff of Writing Counselors and worked with undergraduate students to develop critical thinking skills, empowerment and agency through the writing process.
Sahra has published an e-book of poetry titled, "One Ounce Gold," which covers topics of race in America, the Vietnamese American experience and the human potential. She has also been published in the print anthology, "Pho For Life," which is available on Amazon.com

Kennedy Center Millenium Stage, Fall 2013
In Fall 2013, Sahra Vang was invited to perform at the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage in a celebration of Asian American artists, sharing the mic with Beau Sia, Regie Cabico, Michelle Myers (Yellow Rage), Simone Jacobson, Gowri K., Adriel Luis and G Yamazawa.
